The best part, the recipient does not need to be a 1Password subscriber.ġPassword asks new users to sign up for a $36 annual cloud subscription. It also has a secure data-sharing service called Psst! that lets 1Password users send a temporary link to anyone to share information, such as a password, that has already been saved in 1Password. The catch is that you have to subscribe to both services. 1Password also has great form-filling abilities and true two-factor authentication.ġPassword even offers "masked" email addresses for greater privacy through a deal with email provider Fastmail. The Chrome extension brings 1Password to Chromebook users, and you can also access your 1Password account through the company website.ġPassword's killer feature is Travel Mode which deletes sensitive data from your devices (you'll get it back later) so that snooping border-control agents can't find it. They work directly with web browsers and now support biometric logins. Can we get the application to talk to Chrome and Firefox extensions to share the connection, like they do between themselves? Would be handy to only have to log on once.It also has excellent stand-alone browser extensions for Brave, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. If you hit Ctrl+F in an app, and it's locked, you would just be prompted to unlock first.

If I want to use it again, I would have to unlock it (enter password, PIN, Windows Hello, etc.). So if I open it and use it once, it will stay open for a pre-determined amount of time. Would be nice to see a lock timeout of some sort. There's a Minimize on close option in Settings, but closing the app leaves it in the Taskbar AND System Tray. When LastPass for Windows Desktop is minimized, I want an option to minimize to the tray instead of the Taskbar.

I have a fingerprint reader that it would be very nice to use instead of having to re-type my LastPass password every time.

  • I agree with you on integrating Windows Hello recognition.
  • Great ideas add a few that I've got after having started using the application this last week. Finally (and most importantly), Windows Hello support would be a huge boon Having my choice persist through launches (or having a settings option for this) would be helpful But the next time I open the app, it's checked again, forcing me to uncheck it every single time. Every time I log in to the Windows app, I uncheck the "remember my email" box. I don't want the app to remember my email. Having the notification that I've logged out when the app closes every time gets annoying.

Speaking of that notification, there are only so many times I need to be notified of that. It'd be preferable for the app to stay logged in for the time set in preferences if I chose that rather than logging out when closing The app minimizes to the system tray, gives a Windows notification that it's logged out, and tells you you'll need to log back in. If I set a logout time in the settings, it should stick even if I close the app.

The new Windows 10 app from the Windows Store works better than the old desktop app, but there are still several usability issues that I think can be improved upon:
